Keep Diving

After Taking The Plunge

So now you have "Your PADI" and are an Open Water diver. Unfortunately your holiday is coming to an end and it's time to head home, back to the office and the mundane 9-5, your scuba diving adventures over until at least next year.

Diving Koh Tao

Don't waste your newly earned scuba certification. Make the most of the exciting underwater opportunities that are now open to you as a qualified scuba diver.

Stay Active

There are many ways to be active - and most importantly stay active enabling you to get the most out of your brand new hobby of scuba diving. You have already experienced the thrill of exploring the fantastic underwater realm but you have barely scratched the surface - there is still so much more to discover.

Join A Club

Become involved with a dive club in your local area. This will allow you to meet other scuba divers and give you the opportunity to get wet. Admittedly, diving in a quarry in the UK or a canal in Holland may not be as exotic as diving Koh Tao but there is still plenty of fun to be had.

Scuba Diving

You will be able to keep your scuba skills sharp, improve your buoyancy and orientate yourself to new environments with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills such navigation in limited visibility or how to dive in a dry suit that you wouldn't have had before.

And of course, for all those cold water dives on club days and weekends away you will also get plenty of opportunities to participate in club organised scuba diving vacations.

Whether it's ship wrecks off the coast of Scotland or Malta, Silfra in Iceland - where the continental plates come close together and the water is incredibly clear, or The Boroo on the Isle of Man with its fast flowing currents, there are plenty of scuba diving opportunities to keep European divers active all year round, whether day trips or long weekends.

Take A Break

Life is all about living, you only get one shot at it so you may as well make the most of it. Plan a slightly longer break somewhere where the sun shines and you can get your board shorts and flip flops out and enjoy. Destinations such as Egypt, Turkey or Greece offer an easy flight away for most Europeans to excellent diving spots at affordable costs.

Learn At Home

To expand your scuba diving adventures and update your scuba skills enrol on PADI continuing education courses. These can range from your first scuba adventure at night to becoming an Enriched Air Nitrox diver. Becoming an advanced open water diver is your next step and will open up many new and exciting dive sites to you.

Part of the advanced course is deep diving allowing you to dive to 30 metres. There are optional dives, such as Wreck or Night diving which will expand your adventure while also fine tuning your navigation and buoyancy skills as part of the course.

I understand you may not want to take this course at home and are looking to complete it on your next overseas holiday somewhere a bit warmer. PADI have already thought about this and have E-learning options.

PADI E-Learning

This product enables you to purchase PADI materials and complete the academics sections from the comfort of your own home. This means once you arrive at your warm water holiday destination you spend less time in the classroom and more time in the water.

E-learning is available for a wide range of courses including Rescue Diver, Nitrox and some Professional courses such as Divemaster. Completing the knowledge development ahead of time will surely be the difference between additional 2-4 dives on your holiday or several hours sat in a classroom inside the dive shop.

Go Pro – Live The Dream

Back to your office and the mundane 9-5 job and still, all you can think about are your scuba diving adventures and when will be the next time you pack your mask & Fins and jump on a jet plane. Maybe it's time for a career break or a full Lifestyle change? Tempting?

New Job. New Life. New Country. New Culture. New Friends.

Why not head to Thailand and complete a PADI scuba diving internship program, an ideal way to escape the modern day rat race and turn your dreams into reality. Becoming a PADI Divemaster will allow you to turn your new found hobby into your new full time job!

No more long drives to work stuck on traffic - we do lazy mornings on the dive boat sailing towards our first dive of the day. Seeing your student divers faces light up as you guide them on the dive, pointing out all the cool marine life there is to see is much more rewarding than finishing off your weekly reports.

And becoming a Divemaster is just the start...

You can then become a PADI Instructor, a qualification that can be your gateway to an extraordinary life. Teaching scuba diving allows you to share your passion with others, watch as fear is changed into courage and open hearts and minds to the incredible beauty of our underwater environment.

Diving Koh Tao

Being a scuba diving instructor also allows you to travel the world, discover amazing places and experience new and fascinating cultures.
