What PADI scuba diving Internship program did you complete?
What were you doing before you joined Crystal Dive?
Tellers manager – Standard Bank.
How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?
7 Months all in all.
What was your favourite part of your scuba diving internship and why?
What was your least favourite and why?
I was a bit worried about things like getting lost underwater with students, because I want to give them the best experience possible, but the courses set me at easy and I am now confident in leading dives.
Who was your favourite instructor and why?
It’s really hard to choose, everyone is very helpful and knowledgeable. But team teaching with Nina was definitely a highlight, the way she organises and conducts the scuba diving courses I thought was fantastic.
During your scuba diving internship which of the additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program activities did you take part in and which did you enjoy the most?
Dive against Debris, Cigarette butt challenge, Land clean ups, Ascidian clean ups.
Intro into reef check.
Reef check was my favourite one, it’s fascinating to observe and record to state of the reefs.
Do you think our additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program was beneficial to your Professional level scuba diving training and if so why?
Yes, marine conservation is something everybody should be serious about.
I learned a lot about the fish and coral and the relationship between them, reef check also helped tremendously with my buoyancy.
As a qualified PADI MSDT what are your future plans with regards to scuba?
I want to work and teach in the industry and be an active part in sharing the opportunity to experience the underwater world.
And what is your thoughts about Koh Tao?
Koh Tao is an incredible place.
Your Favourite Restaurant?
Located near to Crystal Dive and on the beach Breeze Koh Tao.
How did you spend your non-diving days?
Hanging around the dive shop and relaxing with friends sharing diving stories
Where are you heading to next?
I’m not sure, to be honest I’d like to stay here and work for a while
