How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?
About two and a half months. No visa runs were necessary.
What was your favourite part of the scuba diving Internship and why?
The community. Diving with Crystal almost every day for close to three months gave me a great opportunity to meet some amazing people and make friends that will be in my life forever.
What was your least favourite part and why?
The day before the instructor’s exam, I worked myself into a panic, stressing about the theory exam. I ended up studying for close to 12 hours straight at Safety Stop which was a slight overkill, but on the plus side, I ended up being incredibly prepared the next day.
Who was your favourite Instructor and why?
No competition. Bob Murphy is amazing. Best course director and just an absolute legend. He’s the kind of instructor that I’d aspire to be like.
As a qualified PADI Divemaster (or Instructor) what are you future plans with regards to scuba?
Honestly, undecided. I’m still in the process of completing my university degree. After graduation, maybe travelling involving diving or working in the dive industry.
And what about Koh Tao?
One of my favourite places in the world. Koh Tao is an incredible place but due to the size of the island, you can begin to feel a bit isolated after a time and a trip to Samui can be very refreshing.
And your favourite restaurant on Koh Tao?
Zest. I still dream about their blueberry cheesecake!
How did you spend your non diving days on Koh Tao?
My non-diving days were mostly spent hanging out with other people who weren’t diving, either at the beach or going snorkelling. But mostly, my non-diving days were just spent talking about more diving.
Where are you heading next?
I’m going to be staying in Australia until June next year and then maybe Mexico to check out the diving.
