From: Johannesburg, South Africa. Age: 27

Before Crystal, I was actually living in Thailand, working as an English teacher. During my school holidays I came to Koh Tao to do my open water and instantly fell in love with diving. The following holidays I came back to do my advanced and it was then that I knew that this is how I wanted to spend my life… Diving!

How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?

I’ve always been one to challenge myself in everything, and finished up in just under 4 weeks.

What was your favourite part of the scuba diving Internship and why?

I think what I loved most was being able to dive as much as I could!

Saying that, it would not have been the same without the crystal family! No matter what you do, it’s always a hundred times better with amazing people by your side!

What was your least favourite part and why?

The sunburn! But being a ginger, I should’ve been a little more prepared!

Who was your favourite Instructor and why?

Very difficult question! They are all great! But if I had to choose, it would be my mentor, Youri. He played a big part in getting me to where i am today!

As a qualified PADI Divemaster what are your future plans with regards to scuba?

I will definitely be taking my diving further! Next step, is PADI Instructor. And then my goal would be to travel the world and see how much of the beautiful blue I can explore while teaching anyone who wants to share this experience with me.

And what about Koh Tao?

Absolutely love it! To anyone I meet, I have always said its the best island in Thailand! It’s got everything you could need. Breathtaking views, incredible dive sites, good parties, great food and of course amazing people

And your favourite restaurant on Koh Tao?

Pranee’s Kitchen. It’s right next to the resort, delicious food and friendly staff that will keep you smiling as they do there best to keep you happy!

How did you spend your non diving days on Koh Tao?

Fun diving or exploring the island.

Where are you heading next?

Not too sure. I will be here for a while and then probably Australia to start my dive around the world adventure.
