Become a Rescue Diver: Build Confidence, Help Others, and Take the First Step Toward Becoming a Pro!
The Rescue Diver course is often described by participants as the most rewarding and enjoyable “serious fun” course in their diving journey. It’s designed to boost your confidence, enhance your skills, and prepare you to assist others in need.
In just a few days, you’ll transform from a self-focused diver into a knowledgeable and self-assured team member, capable of managing emergencies with ease. The course begins with the React Right (First Aid) training on day 1, where you’ll learn essential first-aid and emergency response skills.
Over the next three days, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of dive safety through engaging theory sessions, hands-on skill practice, and realistic scenario-based training. You’ll learn to recognize and handle a wide range of potential diving emergencies, from minor issues to complex rescue situations.

Part 1: React Right & Theory
The React Right Course covers general CPR & First Aid training, as well as oxygen administration for diving emergencies. This sets the course apart from the standard first aid qualificati.
Using a combination of academic sessions and practical training scenarios, this program will give you the tools and confidence you need to respond correctly to emergencies. By the time you are certified, you will be able to act as an emergency first responder, provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and provide AED support in a medical emergency.
If you have completed valid CPR & First Aid training with the last 2 years then you will only need to take part in the Oxygen administration section of the React Right Course which is prerequisite of the Stress & Rescue Course. Please contact us to discuss your options.
The Rescue theory will involve a combination of E-learning and classroom sessions to set you up for the practical elements of the course.
Part 2: Pool-Training
The Stress and Rescue Course can include some challenging and unfamiliar skills, so just like in our Open Water Course we will start off in our custom built dive training pool.
This will begin with assessing and potentially brushing up on your ‘self rescue’ skills. It’s very important that you can first look after yourself in the water before helping someone else.
The Rescue course introduces & expands on exercises such as dealing with tired and panicked divers as well as unconscious divers underwater and on the surface. Again the controlled environment in the pool is an ideal setting to first practice these skills before increasing the realism in an open water environment.
Part 3: Open Water Dives
Take Your Training to the Open Ocean
Now it’s time to put your pool training into practice in a real-world setting. Out in the open ocean, you’ll learn how to react effectively to various situations, whether from the beach or aboard one of our dive boats. Team exercises will challenge your ability to delegate tasks, communicate clearly, and collaborate in simulated emergency scenarios.
Hone Your Skills and Face the Final Scenarios
On the second day aboard the boat, you’ll have ample time to refine the skills you want to focus on. Then, it all comes together in our Final Scenarios. As part of a team, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned—using your resources, teamwork, and Emergency Action Plan to manage and resolve simulated emergencies.
“Serious Fun” in Action
This hands-on experience is not only a valuable learning opportunity but also a thrilling and rewarding culmination of your Stress & Rescue Diver training. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident and prepared to handle challenging situations, making you a safer, more capable diver—and a vital member of any dive team.
