What PADI scuba diving Internship program did you complete?
What were you doing before you joined Crystal Dive?
I was working as a motor trader in the UK.
How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?
It took me 8 weeks to complete my scuba diving internship.
What was your favourite part of yourscuba diving internship and why?
Meeting loads of great people! I also loved going diving with other interns, visiting view points, finding cool things underwater and overall improving my diving. I also enjoyed the skills and workshop part of the Divemaster program because Manu and Tina are awesome and made it a highlight of the program with their style of teaching.
What was your least favourite and why?
At the time, my least favourite part of the program was probably finishing it. I had such an experience throughout I never wanted it to end. I’ve come out the other side with a lot of knowledge, experience and new friends for life.
Who was your favourite instructor and why?
All the Instructors at Crystal are amazing, but I’d have to say Mat was my favourite because of his way of teaching and how effectively he would get things across to students. He’s also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and knows how to have a laugh.
During your scuba diving internship which of the additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program activities did you take part in and which did you enjoy the most?
Beach and dive site clean-ups. Beach clean-ups were my favourite because not only was we making a difference, but we would really enjoy having a big group of us cleaning the beach, out in the sun, having a laugh and it feels very rewarding after.
Do you think our additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program was beneficial to your Professional level scuba diving training and if so why?
I really do believe the Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program was beneficial because it made me more aware of human impact on the environment and you can then pass your knowledge on to your customers, other divers and even non-divers.
As a qualified PADI Divemaster what are your future plans with regards to scuba?
And what about Koh Tao?
This is a beautiful island which is very chilled out, but Koh Tao also has great nightlife and lots of positive vibes. Great people, great weather, great food and great diving!
My favourite restaurant would have to be Zaap. Best pad thai on the island!
How did you spend your non-diving days?
I would spend my non-diving days chilling on a beach with friends; snorkelling, paddle boarding, playing volley ball, watching sunsets and star gazing.
Where are you heading to next?
Honestly, I have no idea. But I know I’ll be underwater somewhere.
