What PADI scuba diving Internship program did you complete?
What were you doing before you joined Crystal Dive?
Travelling and diving a lot since almost 4 years now. I did my Open Water in Indonesia and then my Advanced Open Water in South Africa 2 years ago. Then I keep diving around the world (Philippines, South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi Lake, Malaysia, Thailand).
Before to come in Koh Tao I went to Nepal, I did the Everest Base Camp hike during 12 days. Was also something I really enjoyed it, one of my favourite memories!
How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?
I did it in one month, more or less.
What was your favourite part of your scuba diving internship and why?
I really enjoyed meeting great and cool people at Crystal. I also really liked to fun dive, getting lost and finding cool things under the water with my friends. Also the skill circuits and Divemaster workshops with Manu. The rescue assist was also really cool and fun with my Chinese friends!
What was your least favourite and why?
Probably when I had to leave the Island for 3 days because to get a new visa to Penang!
Who was your favourite instructor and why?
Fralex and Manu – they got straight to the point and it was really easy for me to understand everything quickly.
During your scuba diving internship which of the additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program activities did you take part in and which did you enjoy the most?
I did beach clean-ups and eco dives. The part I enjoyed the most was to take out all the rubbish that I found underwater.
Do you think our additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program was beneficial to your Professional level scuba diving training and if so why?
Yes, because it teaches you more about the underwater world and how to be more aware with the human impact to the environment. That’s also encouraging you to show your costumer to be eco-friendly.
As a qualified PADI Divemaster what are your future plans with regards to scuba?
And what about Koh Tao?
I really like to live in Koh Tao. I think this is the first time in my life that I really like my ‘routine’.
‘Chocolat’ because it’s a French restaurant and Yang because it’s cheap and the plate are huge!
How did you spend your non-diving days?
Just exploring the island, chilling, snorkelling, and finding cool new beaches with friends from Crystal. I also like to get a massage at least once per month.
Where are you heading to next?
I don’t really know yet but I will probably be stuck on this Island for the next few months. It’s quite difficult to make plans in advance but I’m sure I’ll be under the water somewhere!
