What PADI scuba diving Internship program did you complete?

PADI Divemaster Program

What were you doing before you joined Crystal Dive?

I was previously a retail store manager in the UK.

How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?

It took me 8 weeks to complete my scuba diving internship.

What was your favourite part of your scuba diving internship and why?

My favourite part of my Divemaster internship was assisting on all the diving courses Crystal had on offer. Not only was I able to see different instructors teaching styles but also I was building my confidence in being able to assist the students with my new found knowledge in diving to aid the instructors to get the best for the students.

What was your least favourite and why?

I can honestly say that i have totally enjoyed every part of my Divemaster internship, but if i had to pick something it would be the theory side of things at the very beginning as i was still in holiday mode as well as it had been a while since i had studied. But with a good mentor and focus it soon came with ease.

Who was your favourite instructor and why?

All the instructors at Crystal are amazing, but I’d have to say Youri was my favourite assist as his style of teaching was a style that i could most relate to.

During your scuba diving internship which of the additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program activities did you take part in and which did you enjoy the most?

I took part in the dive site and land clean ups. I enjoyed both equally as there was always a good vibe from large groups of people wanting to make a difference so always a fun activity to take part in.

Do you think our additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program was beneficial to your Professional level scuba diving training and if so why?

I really do believe the Marine Conservation ECO program was beneficial because it made me more aware of human impact on the environment and you can then pass your knowledge on to your customers, other divers and even non-divers.

As a qualified PADI Divemaster what are your future plans with regards to scuba?

My original plan was just to do my Divemaster to build my confidence in the water. However since completing my Divemaster internship my plan is now is to go onto my PADI IDC and once completed, teach and show people how great scuba diving is!

And what about Koh Tao?

Koh Tao is a beautiful island which is very chilled out, but also has a great night life and on all three occasions i have visited to extend my diving knowledge I have been left with a sadness to say goodbye. Great diving, great people, great weather, great food. What’s not to love!

Favourite Restaurant?

My favourite restaurant would have to be hippo burger. Best burgers on the island!

How did you spend your non-diving days?

I would spend my non-diving days chilling on a beach with friends; snorkelling, paddle boarding, watching sunsets and star gazing as well as partying with friends from all over the world.

Where are you heading to next?

Honestly, I have no idea. I love Koh Tao so much I have no great urgency to leave.
