What ‘Diving Lifestyle’ Internship program did you complete?
DM > IDC + Instructor Specialties
What where you doing before you joined Crystal Dive’s team to complete your scuba diving internship on Koh Tao?
Nurse in post anaesthesia care unit.
How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?
I started my Divemaster Training on March 3rd and finished April 15th. The plan was to finish sooner, but I had my birthday and a terrible hangover (all thanks to my new friends I made at Crystal).
I then started my Instructor course (IDC) in June.
What was your favourite part of the diving Internship and why?
New people, fantastic new friends I have now and amazing options I have after finishing this internship.
What was your least favourite part and why?
Snorkel test – I moved it 2 or 3 times because I was scared of warm Chang!
Who was your favourite Instructor and why?
Tina. She is funny, she makes everything looks easy and when I was thinking about quitting the program, I spoke to her and told her about everything, she just made me feel great.
As a qualified PADI Instructor what are you future plans with regards to scuba?
As Instructor, I hope I will find a good enough job to make a good living. I don´t need more. I love diving and being under the water and having enough for paying the bills is good enough for me.
And what about Koh Tao?
I love Koh Tao. I met so many great people there and every day was different and challenging. Even bad people were… an experience..!!
I have to admit that the local people were amazing, so calm and welcoming. And for other nationalities, ones you would think about (as I am European), these people are my best friends now. People, who look like closed community (yes, Chinese), they are amazing and I know it because of Crystal. I miss them a lot.
And your favourite restaurant on Koh Tao?
I don’t remember the name, but if you ask some people there for sure they will know. It is opposite Hacienda, at gas station, there is small restaurant and they have local menu – especially Thai BBQ. It is fantastic!! (and the price is good as well).
Oh, and also the Korean restaurant in Sairee.
How did you spend your non diving days on Koh Tao?
Non diving, there were only few of these days, but I was with my friends so we went to eat or to snorkel at Shark Bay. Perfect!
And I can’t forget the viewpoints and festivals. I even changed my plans because of my new friends!
Where are you heading next?
I am still looking for instructor job. I hope I can find one soon… And as of now, I miss diving and Koh Tao freedom!
