What where you doing before you joined Crystal Dive’s team to complete your scuba diving internship on Koh Tao?
I’ve been diving and traveling around Asia since Christmas. (7 months)
How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?
7 weeks, one visa extension on Samui and one flight to KL.
What was your favourite part of the scuba diving Internship and why?
I really enjoyed most parts of the internship. My highlights were the workshops with Manu. I laughed a lot and learned a lot with him. I also really enjoyed working with different people to see different teaching styles and getting to know them better.
I’ve met some great people at Crystal.
What was your least favourite part and why?
I haven’t done it yet but I anticipate the snorkel test will be challenging for me. I’m not really a drinker and dislike a lot of attention. A perfect storm for making me terribly uncomfortable.
Who was your favourite Instructor and why?
Heath is a stand out. He is so patient with his students keeps it fun and light. Neal Sanders is also a fantastic Instructor. I learned a lot from both of them. Great guys who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and guide me through the whole Divemaster process.
As a qualified PADI Divemaster what are you future plans with regards to scuba?
And what about Koh Tao?
I like Koh Tao. It’s a friendly and beautiful place to be. I’m pretty low key so I’m easy to please. I like the energy here but wish I could explore more but I’m intimidated by the scooters.
And your favourite restaurant on Koh Tao?
Zest is a stand out. I’m also a big fan of Pranee’s Kitchen. I love their Massaman curry.
How did you spend your non diving days on Koh Tao?
As of late, I’ve been fun diving on my non-diving days! I’m also a certified yoga teacher so I do yoga often. I also love paddle boarding. The rest is usually obligatory things like laundry, catching up with emails, sleeping.
Where are you heading next?
I guess we’ll see what the Universe has in store for me.
