What PADI scuba diving Internship program did you complete?
The Divemaster Internship Lifestyle program.
What were you doing before you joined Crystal Dive?
I was working in Northern Western Australia as a disability support worker.
How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?
It took me around two months the second time around.
What was your favourite part of your scuba diving internship and why?
The whole lifestyle is pretty difficult not to enjoy, really. It’s very easy to get stuck on Koh Tao diving every day and meeting new and interesting people.
What was your least favourite and why?
I didn’t have a least favourite, to be honest.
Who was your favourite instructor and why?
I really cannot choose a favourite, a lot of the instructors were always really helpful and happy to give advice when it was needed.
During your scuba diving internship which of the additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program activities did you take part in and which did you enjoy the most?
Do you think our additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program was beneficial to your Professional level scuba diving training and if so why?
Yes, because I was able to see where all of our rubbish ends up, from landfill to the ocean. I think it is important for everyone to know and understand how their personal usage of plastics can ultimately affect our oceans.
As a qualified PADI Divemaster what are your future plans with regards to scuba?
I would love to work as a Divemaster for at least the next six months/a year to gain confidence and experience. Then, who knows?
And what about Koh Tao?
My stay on Koh Tao is most definitely remaining indefinite at this stage.
I would have to say Blue Water was my favourite restaurant, although I spent more nights at Reef Bar. The staff there are definitely the funniest and friendliest.
How did you spend your non-diving days?
To be honest there hasn’t been very many, but they were mainly spent just relaxing and catching up with family and friends, here and back home… Can’t go past an afternoon at Maya Bar either.
Where are you heading to next?
I have absolutely no idea! For now, Koh Tao is home.
