Name: Thibaut Dieudonné
Hometown: Brest, France
Age: 24
Internship: PADI Divemaster

What ‘Diving Lifestyle’ Internship program did you complete?

I came to Koh Tao as an Advanced Open Water diver, then did my EFRRescue Diver and then my Divemaster Internship.

What where you doing before you joined Crystal Dive’s team to complete your scuba diving internship (Diving Lifestyle Program) on Koh Tao?

I was travelling and saving money to pay my courses.

How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?

Took me about 2 months (with 5 days for a visa run) and a lot of days off (ha, ha).

What was your favourite part of the scuba diving Internship and why?

Probably assisting courses, meeting new people, diving with my mates every day and being part of the Crystal big family.

What was your least favourite part and why?

Paperwork. (Because I hate that!)

Who was your favourite Instructor and why?

Pretty hard to choose, every instructor is helping or teaching you in a different way. I would say my mentor Dirk, who helped me so much during my Divemaster Training, answering all of my questions and guiding me.

Youri, who did my Rescue Diver course and was always here to give me some advice and obviously Manu and Tina because they are taking care of all the DMTs.

As a qualified PADI Divemaster what are you future plans with regards to scuba?

I want to work as a divemaster to get more experience during few months, learn more specialties and then do my IDC Instructor Course.

And what about Koh Tao?

I love Koh Tao, it’s my second home now. Lots of really good friends, a lot of places I love to go, I’m always outside with them so I’m never bored. It’s exhausting, but it’s a perfect life!

And your favourite restaurant on Koh Tao?

My favourite restaurant is definitly Duck 995 and enjoy really good places to have good and cheap food. And Baby Rastah for the best mango and coconut shake.

How did you spend your non-diving days on Koh Tao?

Well most of the time when I’m not diving I’m snorkeling or playing on the beach with all my mates. I love to sit on the beach until the sunset watching the pier. I spend a lot of day off exploring the Island too.

Where are you heading next?

I’m gonna go back to France, make some money and come back here to do my IDC, that’s for sure. Diving; this is good!
