This is a way that you can help and also be a part of our mission.

Coral reefs worldwide are the most diverse marine ecosystems on the planet and are under threat by multiple anthropogenic factors including climate change, over-fishing, coastal development and pollution.

Even though coral reefs cover only 1% of the ocean, they provide 50% of the oxygen we need to survive.

By adopting a coral, you are contributing directly to the urgently needed conservation of coral reefs.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

To Adopt A Coral,  you can sign up with our marine conservation team (currently paused during El Nino).

Transplanting

We schedule a dive to transplant your coral, tag, measure and photograph it for you.

Website

Your coral data and photograph gets submitted to The Coral Tribe website here so you can view the data online.

Transplantation

Over time, we measure its growth, take further photos and maintain it, with updates online.

WHY ADOPT A CORAL ?

Collecting coral growth data

By choosing to adopt a coral, you play a vital role in the critical conservation efforts aimed at protecting coral reefs.

Since its establishment, The Coral Tribe has diligently collected data on the corals, enabling researchers worldwide to analyse coral growth rates and health states.

Upon adoption, you will receive a personalised adoption certificate featuring a snapshot of your chosen coral. Pperiodic updates online with surveys conducted every few months will produce a gallery of photos and measurements of your coral.

Your support directly contributes to the preservation of coral reefs, making a tangible impact on their survival.

ADOPT A CORAL FACTS

When you support us, you have a direct impact on saving coral reefs and are helping us to continue providing research data.

Globally, over 500 million individuals depend directly on coral reefs for sustenance, livelihoods, coastal defense, and various other essential resources.

Despite occupying merely 1% of the ocean floor, coral reefs host approximately 25% of all marine species, showcasing their unparalleled biodiversity and ecological significance.

Through the ongoing care of these transplanted corals, we enhance their prospects for enduring survival, ultimately contributing to the rejuvenation of our precious coral reef ecosystems.
