CRYSTAL DIVE SCUBA REVIEW REFRESHER
If your last dive was a while back, we recommend a refresher to update your diving skills
Diving on a regular basis might not be possible for everyone with a busy schedule or far away from the sea.
In the Crystal Dive Scuba Review you will refresh not only your safety skills, but will get an opportunity to adjust your trim and buoyancy control for your dives with us already, before you take the first fun dive.
The refresher only takes a few hours and is conducted in our purpose built swimming pool or – upon request – in a shallow bay on Koh Tao.
Once your skills are up to date you will find yourself more relaxed with better trim and control and most likely using less air!
To be covered for diving activities by insurance, generally every non-professional diver with less than 60 dives will require proof of a dive within the last 6 months or a Refresher Training.

If you do it in the morning, you can hop on the dive boat the same afternoon.

Part 1: Theory
There isn’t that much theory to review in our Scuba Review. You will answer a short questionnaire which mainly focuses on a review of safety procedures and techniques.
We will also will review the way to safely plan our dives and the usage of a dive computer, as all your dives will be using a FREE dive computers.
Part 2: Pool Session
Now it’s time to get back into it!
To start off our review, we will size you up and hand you your personal set of equipment for the duration of your stay with us. We will then have a look at refreshing your knowledge on equipment setup and Predive Safety Checks before we head into the pool.
The skills we are going to cover in the pool include the following areas:
– Entries & Exits
– Airway Control (Regulator Recovery, Free Flow-Regulator-Breathing)
– Mask skills (Mask Removal & Replacement, No Mask Swimming)
– Out-of-Air skills (use of Alternate Air Sources & Ascents, C.E.S.A, BCD oral inflation)
– Buoyancy skills (Fin Pivot, Hovering, Buoyancy and trim checks)
– Equipment removal (on the surface and underwater, emergency weight drop on the surface)
We will try to focus on the areas you want to refresh the most and on top of that mainly work on buoyancy control, as this changes the most with time and environment.
