Your Step-by-Step Intro to SCUBA Diving
The Basic Diver experience at Crystal Dive is the perfect way to try diving on Koh Tao in just one day. Designed for first time divers, this intro to SCUBA diving experience is broken down into three easy parts:

Part 1: Intro & Briefing
Kick off your adventure by meeting your instructor, getting to know the equipment, and completing a short orientation.
You’ll learn essential techniques, safety procedures, how to use your gear, and the hand signals divers use to communicate underwater.
We’ll also cover how to interact responsibly with marine life. A brief theory session ensures you’re comfortable before taking your first breaths underwater.
Part 2: Pool-Training
Your instructor will help you gear up and get familiar with your equipment.
You’ll start in shallow water, practising breathing and essential SCUBA skills you’ll need later on.
Once you’re confident, you’ll move to deeper water to practice swimming with fins. Then it’s time for a well-deserved lunch break before heading out to sea
Part 3: Open Water Dives
In the afternoon, our spacious dive boat will take you to one of Koh Tao’s shallow dive sites.
Your instructor will prepare your equipment, review safety procedures, and explain what to expect underwater. Stepping off the boat, you’ll enjoy your first open water dive on Koh Tao.
Love the experience? Stay for a second dive — it’s all part of the adventure! While this program isn’t a certification course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion, and you can easily upgrade to a full certification course later.!

Minimum Age
You’ll need to be at least 10 years old to join the Basic Diver experience.
Medical Statement
You need to be medically fit for diving. Download the standard SCUBA diving medical form [here]. If you have any health concerns, please consult your doctor or get in touch with us before booking your intro to SCUBA diving.

Can I start my Basic Diver experience every day?
In general, yes. We start the Basic Diver experiences every day. To secure your desired start date, we recommend booking your Basic Diver experience online here. This will guarantee your placement in a small group of maximum 2 students per Instructor.
Is it possible to change the schedule for the Basic Diver experience?
Our schedules are flexible and we will do everything to adjust it to your travel plans. Please contact us to arrange for a schedule that suits you within the limits of the Basic Diver performance requirements.
What are the rates for accommodation in my Basic Diver experience?
For your Basic Diver experience, we offer accommodation in a private AC room (choice of Double or Twin) at a discounted rate for the standard course duration of 1 night. There are also upgrade options available for the adjacent Koh Tao Regal or Beach Club Resort. More information here or just contact us directly.
What are the minimum requirements to start my Basic Diver experience?

How many students will be together with me in my Basic Diver experience?
We pride ourselves to teach our Basic Diver in groups of max. 2 students per Instructor for the open water dive(s). If you travel in a bigger group, we can arrange for multiple instructors to teach you together. please contact us directly in this case.
Can I take a Go Pro on my dives for the Basic Diver experience?
Currently, under Thai law, neither students nor instructors are allowed to use cameras during any course, except for specific photo/video courses.
