What PADI scuba diving Internship program did you complete?

After completing my IDC with Crystal, I first did the MSDT internship and then continued with the instructor working internship.

What were you doing before you joined Crystal Dive?

Before I came to Koh Tao I was working as a project manager for a big logistics company. During my last travel I started diving and immediately fell in love with it. When I came home I worked for another half a year before I quit my job to become a diving professional. padi dive instructor course koh tao thailand

How long have you spent completing your scuba diving internship?

It took me around 6 weeks for the MSDT internship and 9 days for the working internship.

What was your favourite part of your scuba diving internship and why?

My favourite part was to finally teach new Open Water Divers and watch some of them develop all the way from total beginner to be certified Rescue Divers. The experienced instructors I was team teaching with really made it an easy to take over the courses bit by bit and the first time I was in charge of my own course in the open water is definitely a moment I will never forget. padi dive instructor course thailand

What was your least favourite and why?

I noticed that getting up before 6 a.m. is always a pain in the arse, no matter if youre heading to the office or a dive shop. Fortunately I forget about that as soon as Im on the boat enjoying the beautiful view of Koh Tao on the way to the dive site.

Who was your favourite instructor and why?

Since they all worked with me on a different level, I guess I experienced all of them in a different way and therefore I dont really have a favourite instructor honestly: they all were awesome in their own way. One thing I enjoyed was hearing the sentence You do you!” from one instructor throughout a whole course, when I did most of the work for the first time. padi msdt course koh tao

During your scuba diving internship which of the additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program activities did you take part in and which did you enjoy the most?

Unfortunately I didnt have any time so far, but since I consider myself as an eco warriorand dont miss an opportunity to raise the environmental awareness of my students, I definitely plan on doing this in the near future.

Do you think our additional Marine Conservation ‘ECO’ program was beneficial to your Professional level scuba diving training and if so why?

As I said above, I didn’t get the time to complete the Eco modules but it is something I will be catching up on. Eco and marine conservation is relevant to everyone, so the fact these are included in the internship courses at Crystal Dive is fantastic and adds extra benefit to the courses. padi diving instructor course koh tao

As a qualified PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer what are your future plans with regards to scuba?

First of all I want to start giving courses all on my own, make some new Open Water Divers and especially educate them about the environment they dive in and make them aware of why the oceans are so important for our wonderful planet. padi dive instructor course koh tao

And what about Koh Tao – Favourite Restaurant?

Oooh I could fill pages about that. The most visited is Babo Sushi where they greet me with the words Same same?almost every day. Other than that I really enjoy Fizz, Coconut Monkey and Vegetabowl, since they all have a lot of awesome vegan options. Not forgetting La Pizzeria of course, in my opinion the best pizza on the island. dive instructor course koh tao

How did you spend your non-diving days?

Im happy to say that I didnt have too many of these, unless I was really hungover. I love the parties at The Warehouse (Factory) and other than that I spent a lot of the evenings in the gym. The best days are for sure the diving days!

Where are you heading to next?

I have to leave the island pretty soon (wellfor most people 23 month on Koh Tao is probably a long time, but time is relative). Before I came here I applied for a working holiday visa in ‘STRAYA’ and unfortunatelyI have to enter the country in 3 months the latest. I want to work at the Great Barrier Reef the place where I fell in love with diving 1.5 years ago. diving instructor course koh tao
