During your Padi Night diver speciality course, you’ll go on 3 open water dives. You will learn to prepare night dive activities and develop your appropriate knowledge and techniques.

Diving at night focuses your attention more. You typically don’t go as far as during the day, so you tend to look more closely at a smaller area. Your dive light keeps your focus on a relatively confined area, so you often pick up details you overlook during the day.
The Padi Night Diver Specialty course can be scary at first for some, and requires a new way of diving and communicating underwater.

The Padi night diver specialty diver course will give you the confidence to navigate and the knowledge to identify marine life at night.
Depending on your personal schedule we will adjust the program for you and move elements of your personal course to accommodate for your holiday plans, but in general, these are the parts of your training:

Part 1: Knowledge Development
There is a Night Diver specialty manual to read and two knowledge reviews to complete that your dive instructor will guide you through and review.
Some of the subjects what you will learn about:
- Planning, organization.
- Avoiding hazards.
- Night diving communication techniques.
- Proper use of a dive light.
- Night navigation techniques.
- Equipment considerations.
Part 2: Night Dives 1, 2 & 3
After all the paperwork has been done we will depart for the first of three dives. As we have to do just night dives, this course will be run over two or three nights.
During the dives you’ll learn:
- Night dive planning, organisation, procedures, techniques and potential problems
- How to control your buoyancy at night
- Entries, exits and underwater navigation at night
- Nocturnal aquatic life, since many of the plants and animals you’ll see are different
After the knowledge review and dives have been completed you will be certified as a Padi Night Diver!

To comply with our dive insurance requirements, you will need to have proof (logbook etc.) of a dive within the last 6 months otherwise you will need to take part in our Crystal Dive Scuba Review before taking part in the course to receive our insurance cover.

In the PADI Night Diver Specialty course you will learn about night diving techniques, navigation at night, the physical differences of diving at daytime, usage of lights and the different marine life to expect.

Can I start my PADI Night Diver Specialty Course every day?
In general, yes. We start our courses any given day. To secure your desired start date, we recommend booking your PADI Night Diver Specialty Course online HERE. This will guarantee your placement in a small group of maximum 4 students per Instructor.
Is it possible to change the schedule for the PADI Night Diver Specialty Course?
Our schedules are flexible and we will do everything to adjust it to your travel plans. Please contact us to arrange for a schedule that suits you within the limits of the PADI Night Diver Specialty Course performance requirements.
Is there a shorter course option available for the PADI Night Diver Specialty Course?
We generally have one Night Dive per night as possible options. If you have taken the PADI Night Adventure Dive you can shorten the schedule for your PADI Night Diver Specialty Course.
What are the rates for accommodation in my PADI Night Diver Specialty Course?
For your PADI Night Diver Specialty Course we offer accommodation in a private AC room (choice of Double or Twin) at a discounted rate for the standard course duration of 2 nights. We pride ourselves to teach our PADI Night Diver Specialty Course personal in groups of max. 4 students per Instructor. On the other hand, if you travel in a bigger group, please let us know and we will arrange for multiple Instructors to teach you together.
Will I see different dive sites during my Open Water Dives in the PADI Night Diver Specialty Course?
We have 3 custom built dive boats and choose the dive sites based on your course requirements, comfort level and weather conditions. Generally, we change dive sites on a daily basis, so you will dive at the best spots available for your PADI Night Diver Specialty Course. More about our boats here.
